Review A

Exterior:
The new Wey Gaoshan 8 features a more imposing and refined exterior design compared to the previous generation, visually widening the front face. The headlight clusters on both sides are also very attractive, adding a点缀 effect and enhancing the aggressive look of the front end, resembling an imposing giant with a calm authority.

Side Profile: A waistline runs from the front headlights to the rear, giving the body a dynamic yet robust appearance. The wheel design is the only aspect I'm slightly unsatisfied with; I feel that larger wheels with more options would better complement the Gaoshan 8's exterior and enhance its overall appeal.

Rear End: The贯穿式 taillight cluster has a unique design with high nighttime visibility. It resembles the archway of an ancient Chinese memorial arch, square yet rounded, echoing the Chinese philosophy of "heaven is round and earth is square," and harmonizes with the front design, giving the entire vehicle a more unified look.

In summary, regarding the Gaoshan 8's exterior, everything gets a perfect score 💯 except for the wheels, in my personal opinion. Of course, the designers must have had their considerations, and choosing the Gaoshan 8 is definitely trustworthy!

Interior:
I previously visited a 4S store to check out cars and happened to experience both the Gaoshan 8 and its predecessor. The interior differences between the two models are quite significant. Upon opening the door, my immediate impression was that the Gaoshan 8's interior is more简约. The previous generation's center console had complex lines and numerous buttons, making it less intuitive to use. The new model has clearly incorporated user feedback, resulting in a much cleaner and more refreshing design.

Seating: The Gaoshan 8's zero-gravity seats are truly comfortable. Whether it's the leather quality, the 10-point massage, ventilation, and heating functions in the front seats, or the zero-gravity second row, they are incomparable to other models. Of course, this might be because I haven't driven many models, but the seat configuration feels very comfortable (my previous MPV was a 2018 ES); it's简直就是云泥之别!

In-Car Screens: The biggest advantage of the ceiling-mounted screen is its comfortable visual experience. Unlike the D9, which has two screens but can cause dizziness after prolonged viewing, and some owners have commented that it's easy to bump into when getting in and out, this design feels more suitable.

The only dissatisfaction with the interior is that the second-row seat buttons would feel more premium if they were fully touch-sensitive like the D9's! Haha, but it's already very good, so I won't dwell on it too much!

Space:
I actually compared the D9, Dreamer, new Lucerne, and Gaoshan 8, and found the D9 and Gaoshan 8 to be the most satisfying. First, the Lucerne: its second and third rows don't have as much space as the Gaoshan 8. You can tell just by opening the front hood that the Lucerne's engine takes up too much space. The Dreamer's third row is like a small folding stool, which I don't like. I might have放弃 the D9 because I get motion sickness; this is from personal experience, no offense intended. In comparison, the Gaoshan 8's space is still king-level.

Features:
When it comes to features, the Gaoshan 8 has too many highlights: whether it's the intelligent driving chip, urban and highway NOA, over 20 speakers, zero-gravity seats, a common rail for the second and third rows, and a sales model where the vehicle comes fully equipped without the need for optional extras. It simply tells you it's fully loaded, so you don't have to worry about choices. This is great for someone like me with choice anxiety!

Driving Experience:
I've driven a total of over 700 kilometers so far. Initially, when test-driving the urban NOA at Nanjing Xiaolongwan, I was quite impressed; it felt amazing. I had been关注 it since its launch, and after the test drive, I was determined to buy it. Later, when picking up the car, since there was no delivery center locally, I needed to take an exam first. I initially joked that now you have to take an exam to buy a car, which is strange, but I guess it's for safety. Later, I drove it back to my hometown to register, and it felt very intelligent and hassle-free. Thumbs up. Electric cars accelerate and overtake very smoothly, nice, nice. A little anecdote: when I first bought it, I couldn't find the power-off button at a service area and was in a hurry to use the restroom. It was quite embarrassing, a bit awkward for someone who hasn't driven an electric car before 😳.

Range and Energy Consumption:
It feels quite accurate. My workplace is about 170 kilometers from my hometown. I fully charged it to drive home for registration, and after about 150 kilometers, it indicated that charging was needed. Since I was on the highway, I was basically driving on pure electric power. I thought highway driving was supposed to be more energy-consuming? If it were non-highway roads, this energy consumption would have easily gotten me home. The only thing is that the sentinel mode consumes about 8-10 kilometers of range overnight. Overall, I'm quite satisfied.

Overall Recommendation:
I would recommend everyone to buy it. Don't wait like I did for three months hoping for a price reduction. Ordering takes 20 days, so there's no chance of a price drop. After all, buying early means enjoying it early, and the comfort and happiness of the family are the most important! I wish everyone a愉快 experience choosing and picking up their cars!

Review B

I have two young children at home, and my family is generally tall, which are the main reasons I bought an MPV. I started looking at MPVs around April 20th this year, and basically checked out all the mainstream MPVs on the market (GL8, Voyah Dreamer, Sienna, Denza D9, BYD Song/Xia??, Trumpchi M8), including some large six-seat SUVs. To be honest, the seats of the Gaoshan 8 are among the most comfortable among so many MPVs; the Dreamer and GL8 are on the stiffer side. Moreover, the Gaoshan 8 doesn't require choosing configurations; it comes as a top trim from the factory, which I think is great—no need to纠结 over configurations like with other MPVs. And for other MPVs to reach the configuration level of the Gaoshan, the basic landing price would be over 300,000 or 400,000 yuan, so the Gaoshan offers extremely high value for money. In terms of fuel consumption, I saw from car bloggers' reviews that it's not high, and it uses 92-octane gasoline. My previous car was a Cadillac CT5, which normally had a fuel consumption of 9-10 liters and required 95-octane gasoline. Later, I watched the launch event of the Gaoshan 8, and it also made great efforts in safety, basically top-notch, and the manufacturer itself conducted crash tests. In terms of intelligent driving, I test-drove it three times at that time, and it can be said that there's basically no difference from Huawei's intelligent driving; it truly belongs to the first tier. Roughly, these are the reasons I bought the Gaoshan 8; there might be some details I haven't thought of.

Review C

It feels like a product that can achieve long-term success.

Many people are concerned about energy consumption, but it's really unnecessary. Just treat it as a gasoline car, and you won't have this anxiety at all.

I've driven the hybrid on the highway several times. For a round trip of 370 km using intelligent hybrid mode, the electricity dropped by 120 km and the fuel dropped by less than 180 km. Basically, on highways or urban expressways, the indicated range for both fuel and electricity is extremely sufficient. For example, driving 30 km on an urban expressway with a power consumption of 20 km is a common occurrence. I'm very satisfied with Great Wall's reverse range overestimation (underpromise and overdeliver).

The NOA intelligent driving is generally good, and it performs better on highways. However, it occasionally exhibits a slight "nearsighted" issue when changing lanes to overtake. For example, if there's a car in the passing lane, it will aggressively move to the rear of that vehicle, almost as if expecting the other car to yield, which comes across as somewhat assertive... Additionally, several kilometers before exiting the highway or approaching a tunnel ramp, it begins shifting to the right lane prematurely, making it seem overly cautious.

Overall, though, the NOA function makes long-distance highway driving much less taxing. Previously, I'd feel fatigued and need breaks after just one or two hours, but with NOA, I can complete a three-hour trip nonstop.

Maybe my driving style is a bit aggressive—I like sudden acceleration and hard braking. Having driven over 2,000 kilometers so far, I've noticed the front wheel hubs are already coated with a light brown layer of brake dust (the rear wheels are fine, still clean and silver). Combined with the winter test results from Dongchedi, where the Blue Mountain's brake pads wore out first, does the Gaoshan—as a model from the same series—have relatively softer brake pads or discs? That said, for such a large and heavy vehicle, using it like a race car daily does put significant stress on the brakes. My previous Subaru had the same issue, so it’s likely just my driving style after all.

Other issues remain to be observed, such as the body's waterproofing. The car was lucky—it poured when I picked it up, and after getting the license plate, it fully endured the torrential rain and severe flooding in Hangzhou on July 12, 2025. So far, the sealing seems excellent, but further observation is needed later.

The second and third rows feature a shared rail design. After installing the official Great Wall cashmere and acrylic floor mats, there's no odd odor (the old mats provided by the car detailing shop had a smell, so I discarded them). However, when traveling with kids, food crumbs tend to scatter easily, the black velvet carpet shows dirt prominently, and food debris often gets trapped in the rails. It's recommended to keep a car vacuum cleaner handy.

Overall, I'm thoroughly pleased. It fulfills all family needs with comprehensive features. As for longevity, that's something time will tell as we spend more days together. I hope Great Wall meets expectations and becomes a classic model capable of serving reliably for ten to twenty years.
