Review A
Model: Tank 300 Hi4-T Black Pineapple, no additional options selected. Static Experience: 1. Exterior: The classic square box design remains the same as the old model, full marks. 2. Interior: Compared to the old model, the infotainment system has been replaced with a large screen, positive feedback (it would be perfect if the old central air outlet design could be retained while upgrading to the large screen); replaced with a column-mounted gear shifter, which is easy to operate and increases storage space, positive feedback; replaced with a two-spoke D-shaped steering wheel, negative feedback, the shape is rather feminine (it can be replaced with the steering wheel from Tank 400/500 without modifications, Douyin @Kongcheng Jiumeng shows the effect after replacement); the steering wheel is thicker, improving the grip feel, positive feedback; the old passenger-side decorative panel has been removed and replaced with a black trim panel, positive feedback; the Hi4-T version cannot be optioned with red interior, negative feedback; equipped with a self-developed sound system with 12 speakers and 960W output, which is much better than the sound systems in the old Tank 300 and Tank 400; it is recommended to turn down the sub-bass and bass levels as the factory settings are a bit booming; comes with 3.3kW internal discharge and 6kW external discharge, making cooking, making tea, and using air conditioning during trips no problem. 3. Space: Legroom is sufficient; thanks to the square box design, headroom is very spacious; the trunk loading space can be fully utilized; due to the battery placement, the rear seats cannot be fully folded flat, and the angle when the seat cushions are folded down is still slightly large. Dynamic Experience: 1. Power: Acceleration is brisk in pure electric mode, capable of reaching 80km/h continuously; when the accelerator is pressed deeply, the engine intervenes, providing abundant power afterwards; whether in pure electric or hybrid mode, the power is completely sufficient; the throttle is slightly unresponsive at startup; the 9-speed automatic transmission (9AT) has good smoothness; the official manual states that P档 should be engaged when waiting at red lights to allow the transmission to complete its self-learning process; currently, the mileage is less than 500km, so it's unclear if the learning process is complete. 2. Braking: The initial segment of the brake pedal travel is electric braking, and the latter segment is mechanical braking; electric braking disappears at around 23km/h, causing a slight forward jerk when braking to this speed; the braking is not linear enough, which initially led to a lack of confidence; deeper pedal depression is required to build braking force, indicating significant room for improvement in the transition between electric and mechanical braking. 3. Steering: Both Light and Comfort modes are too light; even Sport mode feels somewhat light to me (possibly due to my previous experience with hydraulic power steering in older cars). 4. Suspension: Low-speed filtering of small vibrations (such as road markings and seams) is insufficient (likely due to the硬朗 SUV's stiffer suspension tuning for better support); at medium to high speeds, the suspension provides excellent support and resilience when encountering potholes and undulations; the suspension also offers good support during cornering. 5. Wind Noise: Wind noise is slightly higher than that of average SUVs but acceptable. Energy Consumption: Picked up the car two weeks ago, mostly using pure electric mode for urban commuting, with a daily round trip of 30km, requiring charging every three days; electricity consumption ranges between 28-30 kWh; the electricity price is approximately 0.8 CNY per kWh, resulting in a cost of about 0.25 CNY per km for urban commuting (with a home charging pile, 0.1 CNY per km is achievable); for a 2.6-ton square box off-road vehicle, this significantly reduces urban usage costs. Highway fuel consumption, electricity consumption, and depleted battery fuel consumption have not yet been tested (other owners in the community have reported 10 L/100km with intelligent battery preservation and 12.4 L/100km when generating electricity). Summary: This is my first time driving a body-on-frame硬朗 SUV, and the driving and riding experience has exceeded my expectations. I like it more the more I drive it. I will add more thoughts on other aspects if they come to mind. Hope this review helps everyone.
Review B
1. Exterior: 5/5. I've been following this car since 2021. The original HI4T comes with 265/65 R18 HT tires; replacing them with 285/60 R18 AT tires makes it look more robust, as the area under the original wheel arches appears a bit too large.
2. Power: 5/5. Much stronger than the pure gasoline version. At first, I didn't quite understand the power modes: there are pure electric, hybrid, and smart modes. The output has economy, sport, and standard modes. Use hybrid mode on highways, expressways, or elevated roads; if you need electricity when arriving at your destination, you can choose "smart power preservation"; pure electric mode is suitable for urban commuting.
3. Fuel Consumption: 5/5. I've driven about 1,000 kilometers so far, with electricity and fuel each accounting for approximately 50%. The energy consumption (fuel consumption + electricity) is roughly equivalent to 7 liters per 100 kilometers. I will upload pictures when I get a chance later. Fast charging from around ten percent to 100% takes about 40 minutes, and charging to 80-90% takes about 20 minutes.
4. Hardware Configuration: 4.5/5. The rear row configuration is not high; the front row has ventilation and heating, but the co-pilot seat has fewer adjustment functions.
5. Comfort: 4.5/5. Much better than the old model. The 2024 seat is relatively hard; the new model's comfort is okay, no need for a cushion, roughly at the level of an ordinary SUV.
6. Chassis and Handling: 5/5. The road feel is close to that of a 300,000-yuan joint venture SUV with a gasoline engine. In terms of off-roading (haven't really done off-roading yet; currently, the speed on rough roads is about 20 km/h faster than the previous car), I've tried hill descent and low-speed four-wheel drive climbing, which are useful.
7. Reversing: If you're not an experienced driver, it's not that easy. The automatic parking performance is not good; I used it twice, once it got closer to the other line, and once I felt that if I didn't brake suddenly, it would hit the rear. The automatic parking recognition is also relatively slow.
8. There will be a颠簸 feeling at low speed on uneven roads.
9. The visibility is very good; basically, you can see the roofs of other people's cars on the road, and it feels better than the visibility of the Tank 400/500. Personally, I don't like the appearance of the 400 either; I think it's a bit abstract; the 500 is rather old-fashioned.
10. Sound Insulation: 5/5. There is almost no sound below 80 km/h, and even at 120 km/h on the highway, there is only a little wind noise, at least better than the previous 300,000-yuan joint venture SUV.
11. Space: 4/5. I am 182 cm tall and weigh 85 kg; the front row is fine. The rear row is neither big nor small for me, which is above average. The trunk is small, or rather relatively small, about the size of a compact car's trunk. Of course, this car is a compact class.
12. Assisted Driving: 4/5. Normal centering driving is okay, and the driving logic is acceptable, unlike the Denza D9 which brakes sharply when encountering a car merging. I've driven on the highway a few times and feel quite confident, but sometimes the left and right steering幅度 is slightly larger. As an assisted driving system, there is no problem; it belongs to the more comfortable type.
13. In-Vehicle Infotainment System: 4.5/5. It's definitely not as good as "Xiao Ai Tongxue", but all normal in-vehicle functions are OK, much better than traditional cars.
When choosing a car, I only hesitated between the Tank 300 and the Xiaomi SU7, probably 70% for the Tank and 30% for the Xiaomi. Later, I couldn't buy the Xiaomi either. I happened to take a trip to the west and indeed saw quite a few Tank cars. After test driving, the candidates were SU7, BMW 330Li, A6, Zeekr 001, and Lynk & Co 900. Considering purchase tax, driving experience, usage scenarios, manufacturer reputation, etc., I finally chose this car.
Cost of Spare Parts to Whole Vehicle Ratio: Three days after buying it, someone scratched the rear bumper, and I couldn't find the person. I went through insurance myself, replaced the rear bumper and license plate, which cost less than 900 yuan.
Subjective Summary: These are all personal feelings and may not be objective enough. I am very satisfied personally. It is suitable for small families (not very suitable for 3-5 people often), and for people who have a little pursuit of driving, outdoor usage scenarios, safety considerations, and focus on appearance. The configuration is better than that of joint venture cars. If you have time to tinker with it, it has strong toy attributes and also good tool attributes. The advantages are very prominent (90 points and above), and the shortcomings are not obvious (about 80-85 points and above). It's an all-rounder, quite comprehensive.
Review C
Born in 1990, I have been working hard for more than ten years, and it's time to go experience the magnificent landscapes of the motherland and pursue poetry and distant places. I originally planned to buy a Tank 500, but when the Xiaomi YU7 was released, I ordered it for my wife, so the 500 became the 300. I've had the car for less than a month now. The pure electric range hasn't shrunk, the hybrid mode is very aggressive, and overall I'm quite satisfied. Next, I want to modify it for mild off-roading. It will be mainly used for daily commuting, but it needs to have a cool stance. Fellow车友s, please give me some suggestions!
