Review A
Overall, although it has a full retro vibe, the vintage London taxi exterior style is too prominent, making it feel quite odd for family use. Interestingly, the rear doors of this car open backwards, commonly known as "suicide doors," which is different from the door-opening style of traditional MPV models. It features a 1+3+3 seven-seat layout, with only a driver's seat in the first row; the vacant front passenger seat can be used for luggage. The second row has 3 seats, and the 6 seats in the second and third rows are arranged facing each other. To be honest, this design is really too weird for family use, and most people probably find it hard to accept. However, the configurations are quite generous, including a ramp pedal, wheelchair restraints, wheelchair safety belts, threshold ramp pedals, etc., which is quite convenient for families with elderly members. The extended-range version is equipped with a 1.5T three-cylinder engine as the range extender. Objectively speaking, Chinese consumers have a strong prejudice against three-cylinder engines. Although the Li Auto ONE also has a three-cylinder range-extending system and sells well, that's because the Li Auto ONE has advantages and good performance in other aspects. But the LEVC TX is different; its positioning is clear. It might be barely acceptable in the mobility market, but for family use, it's a bit of a stretch. The pure electric range of this car is 105 kilometers, so the range ability isn't great, but since it uses extended-range technology, that provides a guarantee forÐøº½. Overall, if you're considering it for family use, you can skip this car. It might work for business reception purposes, after all, its main service focus is on the ride-hailing and taxi sectors.
Review B
After riding in this taxi once, honestly, I really don't want to take any other taxis anymore. However, apart from this 1+3+3 seven-seat layout model facing taxi and ride-hailing scenarios, it is said that Geely Englon will also launch a comfortable home-oriented 2+3 five-seat model in the future, as well as a forward-facing 2+2+3 seven-seat model targeting business travel scenarios. Currently, this TX5 is available in extended-range and pure electric versions. The one we are experiencing now is the extended-range version, equipped with a Volvo 1.5T engine, with a pure electric range of 120 kilometers and a total range of 550 kilometers. Actually, for this kind of taxi, power isn't the core part of the user experience; smoothness is the key. And sitting inside this car, it really feels very smooth and quite comfortable, which is all that matters to passengers. The pure electric version has a range of 410 kilometers and can be sold with the battery separated, which lowers the purchase cost. Also, time is money when running a taxi or ride-hailing service, right? The pure electric version supports battery swap mode. First, you don't have to worry about battery degradation. Second, battery swapping can be completed in 90 seconds, and the saved time might allow you to take a few more orders. Moreover, the pure electric version also supports vehicle-to-vehicle charging. If you drive a long distance and can't swap the battery, it's quite convenient to ask a fellow driver to come and help out in an emergency. Many small detail designs are really satisfying: first, there are four air conditioning vents - two in the front and two in the back; second, when the armrest is opened, there are cup holders, wireless phone charging, and a storage compartment, with a charging port on each side; third, the back of the cockpit uses a high-transparency partition, providing excellent visibility.
Review C
¡¾Most Satisfactory¡¿The LEVC TX was once a common sight as a classic British taxi in the UK, exuding retro charm. Its exterior radiates a strong British aesthetic, featuring a squared-off front grille with blackened interior and circular headlight clusters on both sides, creating a visually striking effect. Unlike the boxy shape of traditional MPVs, the LEVC TX's side profile presents a more rounded silhouette. Notably, its door mechanism is particularly distinctive, employing an opposing front-rear door opening design that adds a ceremonial feel when entering or exiting.
¡¾Riding Experience¡¿The LEVC TX measures 4866mm in length, 1945mm in width, and 1880mm in height, with a 2986mm wheelbase. The interior features a driver-passenger compartment separation design. The opposing door configuration enhances the sense of spaciousness inside. With its 2+2+3 seating arrangement, the rear seats are generously proportioned for exceptional comfort.
¡¾Driving Experience¡¿In terms of power, the 2023 pure electric version of the LEVC TX has a maximum output power of 163 horsepower, which is slightly low in the current new energy vehicle market. The CLTC pure electric range is 410 kilometers, adequate for daily commuting.
