Chery Jetour Shanhai T2 -Hybrid PHEV

Let me share some real insights; there are too many advertisement posts online. They're not just similar—they're almost identical. As an owner who picked up the car right after it was launched, I have to tell you guys the truth.

I bought the T2 mainly because of three advantages: good looks, great size, and excellent technology🤭.

Advantage 1: It looks good. The Traveler is probably the best-looking model in Chery's design lineup. I basically bought it for its appearance. As a Chery owner for over a decade, I recognize Chery's technology, but most of their models' designs over the years haven't appealed to me. As soon as the Traveler came out, I fell in love with it at first sight. Chery has finally come to its senses after all these years.

Advantage 2: Size. Short body, wide stance, and tall height. For urban driving, the most important thing is easy parking. Cars over 5 meters may look imposing and comfortable, but they're hard to park. The T2's 4.7-meter short body, 2-meter width, and 1.9-meter height make it look powerful without being too long to park. The competitor Menglong looks a size smaller than the T2, but its length is actually longer. I have to give the T2 a thumbs up for that.

Advantage 3: Large battery plus three-speed, three-motor, three-clutch system. The C-DM should be the most complex hybrid system currently available. I'm a tech enthusiast; software can be upgraded, but hardware can't be changed once purchased. This hybrid system has a high ceiling and is very fun to drive. Plus, with the 43kWh large battery, it has an all-electric range of 165 kilometers. Combined with Chery's reverse range underreporting, the daily usage cost will be very low.

【Most Satisfied】
The vehicle's appearance. To be honest, I basically bought this car because of its appearance. 99% of the friends in the car owner group think the same way.

【Space Performance】
Speaking of space, I have to say that when the seats are folded flat, the space is really large. I took pictures, which you can look into.

【Range and Energy Consumption】
The pure electric range is 129 kilometers, and it强制保电 (forces power preservation) at 20%. With hybrid (oil and electricity), the comprehensive range is around 1000 kilometers.

【Driver Assistance】
It doesn't have Deep Blue's automatic parking, automatic ramp recognition, or automatic speed adjustment based on navigation. It's a bit underwhelming.

【Charging Time】
Starting to charge from 20%, it takes more than an hour, about an hour and a few minutes; there's no such thing as 30 or 40 minutes. The parameters are just ideal data. It is recommended not to save that little money; buy the 208-kilometer range version. Then there's no worry about electricity, and it's great for cross-city trips over a hundred kilometers. With 129 kilometers, after deducting 15%, there's still worry.

【Interior】
Black is easier to maintain, beige is brighter. Each has its own characteristics; it depends on personal preference. (No comment)

【Least Satisfied】
The complimentary services when purchasing the car are too few. Others get 3 or 5 maintenance services, but my sales guy only gave 1. He refused to give this and that, and in the end, only a full-set floor mat and window film were provided.

【Service Experience】
After-sales service is okay. For in-car system upgrades, they handle it directly when you go there. If there's a vehicle malfunction, the remote support is very patient.

【Driving Experience】The steering wheel is misaligned (to the right). Most car owners in the group have reported this issue. When driving through puddles, water splashes onto the windshield. I checked online (no solution). The four-wheel suspension is relatively stiff, with obvious vibration. There's a lot of noise when driving at high speeds. For car owners with high noise requirements, please consider carefully.

【Car Buying Experience】
Last year, I accidentally saw a boxy-shaped car and was immediately attracted. At first, I didn't know what kind of car it was, but I thought it was very cool and wild. Later, I found out it was Jetour Shanhai T2, a brand under Chery. I have great trust in this "tech guy" brand, no doubt about it.
Then I liked it more and more, observing its features, capabilities, advantages and disadvantages every day. In addition, my original compact car was no longer够用: picking up and dropping off the kids every day, taking the elderly out on weekends, and when the trunk was stuffed with a stroller and luggage, I always felt the space was tight. Later, I discussed with my family and decided to change the car!!!

【Space Performance】
With a wheelbase of 2800mm, the seating space is quite impressive. The rear row is really spacious and very comfortable. The trunk is average-sized, which is more than enough for a suitcase and a stroller for daily trips. Moreover, it can be expanded—folding down the rear seats immediately gives a super large-capacity trunk, and most importantly, it's completely flat, so you can take a nap during daily trips, which is very nice!

【Range and Energy Consumption】
The nominal range is 208 kilometers. There's a forced battery protection strategy from full charge to 20%, so driving 180 kilometers is no problem, and the range is definitely not falsely marked. Of course, it may be worse in winter; the battery is afraid of cold in northern winters! I strive to achieve zero fuel consumption for daily commuting 😁

【Smart Cockpit】
The seats are moderately soft and hard, very comfortable with good wrapping, so you won't feel tired even on long trips. The driver and front passenger seats are equipped with sleep headrests, which are very comfortable, and the queen's leg rest on the front passenger seat is worthy of praise. It's a pity that the seat massage function available in the Traveler version has been canceled in this car.

【Driver Assistance】
This car is equipped with L2.5-level intelligent assisted driving. It can free your feet and properly free your hands during long-distance driving, but of course, you can't drive distractedly—you can just have time to look out the window. It's also very useful in traffic jams, as it can automatically follow the car in front.

【Charging Time】
The charging pile is赠送 and installed for free by the manufacturer. My car has a battery capacity of 44 kWh. It takes about 6-7 hours to fully charge with a slow charger, and a little over an hour with a fast charger—you can fully charge it while having a meal.

【Most Satisfied】
What I'm most satisfied with is definitely the appearance; I bought it because of the appearance. I also compared it with other boxy models like Haval during this period, but for some reason, I just didn't like them. Maybe it was love at first sight. The visibility is also very good, which is a world of difference compared to my previous small car. The driving experience is great: when encountering potholed roads daily, the chassis support is excellent and very stable, and the shock absorption filtering is also very comfortable. In short, I definitely bought the right one.

【Least Satisfied】
What I'm not satisfied with is that the infotainment system反应慢, making people doubt whether it uses the 8155 chip. Sometimes it takes half a minute to enter the interface after booting up, and we can only hope that the manufacturer will improve it through OTA upgrades in the future. In addition, not everyone likes Xiaojie's 3D interface design—it's really a "tech guy" style! Also, the fuel consumption and engine noise are a bit loud when the battery is low, but this isn't really a drawback. Plug-in hybrid cars have the engine both generating electricity and driving when the battery is low, so the noise will definitely be louder.暂时 there's nothing else I'm dissatisfied with, and I will continue to follow up with feedback in the future.
