Review A
¡¾Appearance¡¿
I bought the Firefly Glow Edition with an Inspiration Purple exterior and a Cozy Purple interior. Although it's purple outside and purple inside, I think it's suitable for anyone in the family to drive. The colors are very fashionable. In terms of the Firefly's appearance, it's quite distinctive. When driving around, it definitely turns heads. At first, I couldn't quite accept the three - eye headlights, but now I like them more and more. They're so recognizable. Moreover, after updating the car's infotainment system these days, the dynamic lighting effects have been upgraded, making it highly playable. And I have to say that NIO's design is trustworthy. The glowing Firefly logo in the middle gives the car a high - tech feel in low - light conditions.
¡¾Space¡¿
The space in this Firefly is quite good. The trunk can hold enough stuff for short trips or daily commuting in the city. There's also a huge frunk, which is a plus. As for the interior space, I think it's sufficient. I'm 175 cm tall and I don't feel cramped at all. When I'm sitting in the front, the rear space isn't too tight either. Overall, I think its space design is very reasonable.
¡¾Interior¡¿
I chose the Cozy Purple interior. I think the purple color is well - tuned, similar to the purple interior of the ET5t. The Microfiber ultra - suede material used in the interior is quite high - end. It covers large areas of the dashboard and door panels. It feels and looks great. And the seats in the Firefly are really a pleasant surprise. They're very comfortable. I don't feel tired at all during medium - and short - distance drives. I'm quite satisfied with the Firefly at this price. The car's audio system, a 14 - speaker Dolby sound system, is really good and can basically meet the high music - listening needs of people like me. I think the overall design sense of the Firefly is quite consistent. From the UI of the screen to the small decorative parts, they all have the same shape. The refinement of this small car is quite similar to my previous smart car.
¡¾Driving Experience¡¿
It's been 25 days since I picked up the car, and I've driven over 1,000 kilometers in total. Here are my impressions: First, the car's chassis is good. With a MacPherson independent suspension and a rear five - link suspension, the overall driving feel is excellent. Second, this small car is extremely agile. Its turning radius is very small, which is very useful in the city. Third, the car's acceleration is okay. The power is sufficient. In comfort mode, it's also suitable for family members who aren't used to the power of electric vehicles.
¡¾Intelligence¡¿
There's a bit of a drawback here. The Firefly's voice assistant isn't as good as Nomi. We'll have to wait for the OTA update. But it doesn't affect much. Most functions can be operated through Lomu, including the air - conditioner, windows, music, and navigation. It also has highway assist driving, which works well on the highway, but I don't use it often. Let's see the future updates.
¡¾Range¡¿
The car is marked with a CLTC range of 420 kilometers. In my actual use, a full charge gives me about 360 kilometers in the city and around 300 kilometers on the highway. However, I think it's okay with a home charging pile. It might seem a bit under - performing for long - distance trips, but it's absolutely fine for medium - and short - distance drives. I installed a home charging pile at home. It takes about 4 hours to fully charge the car when I park it at home at night. I only need to charge it once every four or five days. The salesperson said that the Firefly can only use NIO's fifth - generation battery swap stations when they're launched. We'll see if there's a need then. Currently, charging is convenient.
¡¾Cost - Effectiveness¡¿
If you're looking for a more refined small car, especially if you're trading in a smart car, I think the Firefly is really a good choice. It depends on its overall quality in the future. If it's good, I might consider buying a larger NIO car.
Review B
¡¾Space Performance¡¿
The vehicle's space is still very large. There should be no problem fitting two Dahon folding bikes in the trunk. In contrast, I have to fiddle around carefully for a long time to fit two bikes in my ET5T. There is an extra private space under the front passenger seat of the Comfort Edition, and there is finally a glove box.
¡¾Range and Energy Consumption¡¿
As of today, it's been less than a month since I picked up the car, and I've already driven over 2,000 kilometers. My wife commutes 80 kilometers every day, with 80% of the journey on highways and elevated expressways. The air - conditioning is set at 23 degrees throughout the journey. At present, the comprehensive energy consumption is about 10.3 kWh per 100 kilometers. I'm very satisfied with this energy - consumption performance. This car is very suitable for urban commuting.
¡¾Assisted Driving¡¿
The XX (assuming "С³æ×Ó" is a car name) uses Horizon's intelligent driving solution. However, when used on elevated expressways and highways, it is in no way inferior to NIO's Orin solution. Moreover, it supports the mutual switching between NOP and enhanced lane centering during assisted driving, which NIO doesn't support.
¡¾Charging Time¡¿
The battery temperature of the XX is 42 degrees. When using a general fast - charging station outside, it only takes about 50 minutes to charge from 50% to 100%.
¡¾Intelligent Cockpit¡¿
With a brand - new UI design, the interaction with the car infotainment system is very smooth. The only regret is that it currently doesn't support the sentry mode and the driving recorder. But there is a very useful feature: the streaming rear - view mirror, which is simply a blessing for novice drivers. However, I've installed an external driving recorder myself. I hope the official can update it soon ??
Review C
It's been two months since I picked up my car. Recently, I've been competing with my wife every day to drive the ORA Funky Cat.
Initially, my wife was a bit unhappy when I got the Funky Cat. She thought that by buying a small car, I was swapping the large Li Auto, in which she could take naps, for it. After driving it for some time, she seems to highly agree that the Funky Cat is even easier to drive than the Li Auto. Whether it's about the car's body size or the driving experience, it's as if we've gone back to the days of driving fuel - powered cars, that feeling of oneness between the driver and the car. This is her brief review of the Funky Cat.
Actually, as the second car in the family, I think it's enough if it can safely take you from point A to point B, with a compact body, easy parking, sufficient space, and guaranteed safety.
Regarding the space, as a small car, the space isn't extremely spacious, but it's really sufficient. In the past two months, the small storage compartments in the car are still empty. I don't know what to put in them.
The storage space under the second - row seats isn't very convenient for daily use, so I've thrown all the repair tools in there, which has made the trunk a bit tidier.
The front trunk is both lovable and annoying. When I take my kids to play in the water in summer and come back, I can just throw the wet life jackets and swim trunks into the front trunk without soiling the car interior. It's very practical. However, it can't be opened remotely or from outside the car. You have to manually pull a lever under the driver's seat on the left. Imagine having a lot of bags in your hands. I have to put the things on the ground first, then get into the driver's seat to open the front trunk, get out of the car to load the things, then get back in the car and drive. How troublesome it is! So, it definitely loses a point here. I really hope the official can add the function of opening the front trunk from outside the car through OTA. I dare not use third - party accessories.
Regarding driving, the Funky Cat really gives a "hot hatch" feeling. Although its power isn't very large, the accelerator is very responsive at low speeds. Overtaking on the city roads really gives an exhilarating feeling. On the highway, it's just okay. Anyway, I don't drive on the highway very often in a year. Also, it has strong low - end torque, but the tire grip is just average. As a rear - wheel - drive car, it's prone to skidding on rainy days. Fellow car owners, safety must come first!
One of its highlights is the turning radius. It can make a U - turn across one lane, which often makes other drivers envious.
Regarding the range, my wife can drive it close to 400 kilometers. I don't know if she pushes the car when getting off. I don't have a "golden foot". Normally, when the battery is fully charged, I can only drive a little over 320 kilometers, less than 340 kilometers, about 80% of the rated range. Since I'm using home - charging at more than 0.3 yuan per kilowatt - hour, why worry so much about power consumption? Just drive it comfortably.
The charging speed isn't very fast. It takes nearly 50 minutes to fully charge. If I'm going on a long - distance highway trip, it's quite frustrating. The fifth - generation battery - swapping stations are still a long way off, but it's better than nothing.
Regarding the appearance and interior, the ORA Funky Cat is really a car with high emotional value.
Firstly, it's not cheap. Secondly, it's quite rare. So far, less than half of the pre - ordered cars have been delivered, and you can hardly see many on the street. Thirdly, its design is a bit unique. The more others say it's ugly, the more I think it has personality. The interior is really delicate. Although it doesn't have that kind of luxurious style that shines and looks expensive at first sight, it has a kind of refinement hidden in the details. It has a very clean and simple design without redundant decorations, but every detail shows some thought. When you get into the car, you'll feel that the materials are of good quality and the atmosphere is comfortable. It won't make me, a person with OCD, feel that there's any over - design.
I've bought a lot of accessories from the official mall, such as sunshades for the sunroof, front windshield, and side windows, floor mats, tissue boxes, magnetic trash cans, fragrance replacement cores, headrests and lumbar supports. There are so many of them. The official workmanship is really good, but the prices are really high.
