Review A
¡¾Exterior and Interior¡¿ The exterior is simply impeccable. It continues the classic look of the Cadillac family series. I can't love it more. I used to be an XT5 owner, and there was not much sense of incongruity when I switched to the Lyriq. Cadillac has always been one of my favorite car models in terms of appearance, and I'm also very satisfied with and fond of the Lyriq this time. Maybe it's more of a personal sentiment, but there's no denying that when you drive the Lyriq on the street for a circle, the turning - head rate is definitely high. Passers - by will take a second look and ask what kind of car it is. Who wouldn't be amazed by the large grille on the front face?
¡¾Vehicle Configuration¡¿ I bought just the long - range luxury version for the later stage, but actually there's no cut in the configuration at all. It has everything it should have, like the dual - zone air - conditioning, panoramic sunroof, permanent - magnet synchronous motor, Super Cruise driver assistance system, 360 - degree camera, automatic parking and so on. Of course, the automatic parking and 360 - degree camera will only be available after the subsequent OTA upgrade. Just look forward to it. I won't give it a full score for now. I'll give it five stars after the subsequent update.
¡¾Space¡¿ Is there any need to talk about this? It's a mid - to large - sized SUV, and the space is excellent. I even feel it has surpassed my XT5. It also supports folding down the rear seats. It's no problem to have people sit in the trunk. Both the front and rear rows have plenty of space. And unexpectedly, the middle position in the rear row is also very comfortable. No wonder it's Cadillac's iconic leather seats. It's really satisfying!
¡¾Range¡¿ How to put it about the range? The official says it's over 600 kilometers. Actually, there is a little reduction in the range when I drive it, but it's not a big problem. It definitely has over 550 kilometers. The super - fast charging also makes me not worry about the range issue. It's really cold in winter. The air - conditioning warms up the car quickly, and there's also a cool tech feature, the pre - heating function for the cabin during charging. To be honest, it's really considerate. When I get in the car to go to work in the morning, after a few minutes of heating, it gets warm right away. With the seat heating, steering wheel heating and the air - conditioning on, it's so comfortable.
Review B
First of all, the battery range is much better. My previous Model 3 was the standard range version. (There was no other choice at the end of 2019. The version with a 52-kWh battery and a range of 455 km was too expensive.) This time, the LYRIQ has a 95-kWh battery and a range of 653 km. I have absolutely no range anxiety when driving it.
Secondly, the space is a bit larger. Although pure-electric SUVs are relatively low (with a sloping roof) to save power, and American SUVs tend to have long front ends to look cool (which compresses the rear space), and the interior space of Cadillac has always been a mystery... But still, a starved camel is still bigger than a horse. It's much better than the Model 3. Moreover, the seating experience is more comfortable than the stiff seats in the Model 3, which is more family-friendly.
Then, there's the sense of luxury in the interior. American luxury brands directly outshine American "new forces" like Tesla. To be precise, Tesla's interior is among the worst, not to mention its shoddy workmanship that's really off-putting.
Finally, let me mention Carplay. Since it's not available in Tesla but works fine in the LYRIQ, you can just plug in your phone (no need for a phone holder) and use wireless charging. There's even a small fan for the wireless charger, so your phone won't overheat. It's really amazing! The actual measured charging power is also a bit better than that of the ET7 I drove recently.
Of course, no car is 100% perfect. Currently, the vehicle's hardware performs excellently, but the in-car infotainment system is obviously not that stable... We can only look forward to OTA updates, especially for the 360¡ã panoramic view and Super Cruise functions. I hope to use these two features soon.
Review C
Two reasons for buying the Lyriq. Firstly, it's the appearance. It can be said to stand out from current car designs. Also, I'm a person who values appearance, so the Lyriq became my top choice. Secondly, on that day, I test - drove mainstream new - energy vehicles like the Zeekr 001, Xpeng G9, NIO ES6, and Avatr 11 (I didn't test the Li Auto because I can't understand range - extender vehicles and they're not on my consideration list). At that time, the suspension firmware of the Zeekr 001 hadn't been upgraded. In the air - suspension version, when leaving the garage, it almost made me dizzy and vomit, so I ruled it out. The other cars all had aspects that I couldn't accept, and I won't go into details to avoid being accused of bashing.
There's no need to say much about the appearance. When driving on the road, its rate of turning heads is really no lower than that of a Lamborghini Urus. Especially when the front grille lights up, even the passing dogs will turn back to take a look. My friend said it looks like a spaceship, very elegant.
The interior design doesn't follow the monotonous new - energy style. It retains physical buttons and the adjustment levers for the air - conditioning vents, which deserves praise. The super - minimalist style of Tesla seems over - designed. It doesn't lose the heritage of a luxury brand. The atmosphere inside the car is obviously different from that of a car worth over 200,000 yuan. However, SAIC's assembly process really disappointed me. The chrome strip on the front - passenger door panel isn't aligned with that on the front windshield and is a bit higher. The cover of the center armrest wasn't even installed for me. Another common problem with the Lyriq is that the steering - wheel housing is crooked.
Compared with mainstream new - energy vehicles, its configuration isn't very high, but it's completely sufficient. I really regret not having the MRC. Otherwise, I'd pay an extra 20,000 yuan for it. However, General Motors' century - long tuning skills are not to be underestimated. The five - link suspension is really no worse than the air suspensions of the Xpeng G9 and Zeekr 001. I really love the AKG audio system. My Bluetooth earphones and over - ear headphones are also from AKG, and its tuning suits my taste.
After all, it's a car over five meters long, but General Motors' reputation as a "reverse space magician" isn't unfounded. Despite its large body size, the seating space is similar to that of my Volkswagen Passat. The trunk is really large and can fit several people.
The range is quite reliable. In the city, I can drive the four - wheel - drive version for 600 kilometers without a problem. My main driving environment is hilly areas with lots of mountain roads, and the mileage is basically over 500 kilometers. On the highway, it's about 400 kilometers. The range attenuation isn't too serious, considering the car weighs 2.7 tons.
In terms of intelligence, I can't boast in front of new - energy vehicle brands. After all, it can't even automatically open the trunk. However, the SC intelligent driving system deserves praise. It claims an 80 - million - kilometer zero - accident intelligent driving record. The automatic lane - changing is very smooth, better than that of many novice drivers. I hope it can further expand its support for more maps.
The driving experience is excellent. It's calm and elegant while still having power. The tuning isn't as radical as that of new - energy vehicle brands. I get carsick when driving a Tesla. The Lyriq drives like a large - displacement gasoline car. The initial acceleration is gentle, and as long as you step on the accelerator, it's still easy to overtake most cars.
