    Review A

    ¡¾Highlight Features¡¿
Although the interior is like a bare - bone house, the in - car configuration is extremely rich. The AR HUD comes with a dynamic head - up display. When using the built - in navigation, there will be dynamic prompts at every intersection. To my surprise, such a small car also has a heated steering wheel. Now in winter, I don't have to fear the cold every time I get in the car. It has L2 - level driving assistance, including ACC and lane - keeping. The recognition rate is quite good even in traffic jams. It's quite smart among joint - venture brands. The ID headlights are matrix - type with adaptive high - and - low beams. It's really rare to have these technological features at this price point.
    ¡¾Most Dissatisfied¡¿
    1. As always, the most annoying thing about the Volkswagen ID series is that it doesn't have independent window control buttons. Every time I want to open the rear window, I have to search for the button separately. There have been many embarrassing situations where I silently lower the rear window while talking to the parking attendant.
    2. Interior. Although the design is not bad, the materials used are really cost - saving. There are large areas of hard plastics. They just don't want to give you any sense of quality. As a result, my hands and legs often feel uncomfortable when they hit the inner door panel while driving. At this price, it's really unacceptable. After all, the interior of the Golf isn't this stingy.
    ¡¾Range¡¿
    1. The range depends on how you drive. If you drive gently, I once used my "golden right foot" to drive 100 km in urban conditions, with an average speed of 23 km/h, the air - conditioner on (no external circulation) and the temperature at 19 degrees. The actual measured power consumption per 100 km was 14 kWh, which is equivalent to a range of about 400 km.
    2. It's a different story if you drive aggressively. Also in D gear, with the seat heater on and deep - pressing the accelerator like "beating everyone", the power consumption is about 19 kWh per 100 km, which means a range of just over 300 km.
    ¡¾Driving Experience¡¿
The driving experience of this car is the most unexpected thing for me. When my colleagues ride in my car, they all say, "Damn, the chassis quality; damn, the suspension support." This shows the car's excellent chassis tuning. It's soft yet firm, and the rebound has damping. I think this is the skill of a century - old carmaker in chassis tuning.

    [Car Purchase Experience]
My previous car was the Chery Ant, a domestic gem. It was also a model with very prominent strengths and weaknesses, and it had a very precise positioning. Parking in Beijing's residential areas is inconvenient, but I never had any parking concerns with the Ant. However, after three years of driving, there were small rattles everywhere. The resale price was okay, so I decided to make a change. I originally wanted to buy a Tesla Model Y, but I missed a good opportunity to purchase it, so I still looked at small cars.

The cars of that three - letter brand have good battery technology, but their appearance is really too ugly to accept.

I fell in love with the ID.3 at first sight because of its appearance. After the test drive, I really thought it was great. It also strikes a good balance between the body size and interior space. With a 4.2 - meter body, the interior space is quite roomy, and the trunk can hold a relatively large amount of stuff.

So I went to the ID Store in Beijing. There was a car in stock with a good price, so I bought it right away. It has a white exterior and a black interior. A white interior would, of course, look great, but it's not easy to keep clean and it's a bit too feminine. More importantly, I prefer the silver wheels and the color scheme, which can only be achieved with a black interior.

    [Driving Experience]
Traditional automakers have a deeper understanding of driving. I liked this car from the test drive, and the more I drive it, the more I love it. You'll know how good it is once you drive it. Whether it's accelerating, braking, or changing directions, it feels very solid, giving you a sense of oneness with the car. The chassis is especially stable. When going over speed bumps or uneven roads, it's very smooth, and it even becomes a kind of pleasure. The assisted - driving system also has good logic. For example, when you turn on the turn signal while the lane - keeping function is on, it will automatically pause. Although there's a certain learning curve, it can help you develop good driving habits.

    [Range]
This is the second new - energy vehicle I've used and the second car in my family. Since I have a charging pile at home, I have this understanding of such cars: Their main functions are for daily city commuting and short - distance trips around the city. In this sense, once the actual range exceeds 300 kilometers, there isn't much difference between a 600 - kilometer range and a 700 - kilometer range, because in daily use, I almost always charge the car once a week. I usually don't choose this car for long - distance trips to avoid having to plan my route based on the location of charging stations.

Of course, the situation might be different for friends who don't have a charging pile or use this as their only vehicle.

    Review C

I'm a big fan of Volkswagen. I've raced at the Zhejiang International Circuit and made it onto the leaderboard, which means I'm more experienced than keyboard warriors. Those who disagree can come to the track and have a go. I've bought several Volkswagen models, including the old Bora, Polo, new Polo, Golf 7, and Talagon, all with top - of - the - line or second - top - of - the - line configurations. This time, I bought the mid - range ID.3 with ternary lithium battery, the Outstanding Edition. Here are some things I'm not satisfied with:
    ? Chassis aspects:
. There are abnormal noises when turning at different speeds. There's a chance that the suspension tower top makes a clicking noise. I suspect it's the plane bearing or the shock absorbers aren't adjusted properly. The Sachs shock absorbers that come with it shouldn't perform like this.
    2. The rear seats have an obvious bouncing feeling. When driving at a normal speed of 40 km/h on potholed urban roads with the tire pressure set to the recommended value, the rear passengers feel obvious bumps, and they generally report discomfort. However, when I'm driving, the lateral support during fast cornering is good, so I give it a thumbs up. There's a big difference between the front and rear seats.
    ? Hardware configuration aspects:
. The radar gives false alarms. For example, it suddenly gives an alarm when waiting at a traffic light. Also, the detection distance and accuracy of the radar are not as good as those of Volkswagen's fuel - powered cars. When parking sideways, the radar keeps beeping, and you think you're about to hit the wall, but there's still about the width of a palm left.
    2. The active braking is too sensitive. Once, it suddenly stopped when going over a speed bump at a community gate. Another time, when following a car and waiting at a red light, just as I was stepping on the brake, it suddenly initiated emergency braking for pre - collision, even though there was still more than a meter between my car and the one in front.
    3. The air - conditioning system cuts off power half an hour after the engine is turned off. When taking a nap in the car, I have to restart the air - conditioning every half an hour.
    4. The touch controls are anti - human. Both the air - conditioning and the radar shutdown are controlled by touch. You can only use voice control or CarPlay. The voice recognition of the smart version is much better.
    5. The grip of the Hankook Ventus tires is poor. When driving a bit faster, the tires squeal and the ESP intervenes. They're even more slippery than BMW's tires. Especially in an underground garage with an epoxy floor, the car can't stop easily, and the ABS makes the pedals bounce.
    6. The two rear - view mirrors are downgraded from dual - curvature mirrors. They're already small, and when driving, they have the same large blind spots as those on the Golf 8.
