Review A
My previous car was a 10th-generation Accord Hybrid, and I just replaced it with a new 11th-generation Accord PHEV. I've driven 1400km in 20 days, and compared to the previous hybrid generation, here's my sharing. The sound insulation has improved significantly, it's incomparable, and the difference is obvious. The power feels enhanced; whether in pure electric mode or with low battery, the acceleration is equally linear, and there's no lag even when flooring the throttle. The 10th-generation hybrid did have some delay when flooring the throttle. The chassis is more偏向舒适, not sporty anymore; high-speed cornering doesn't inspire as much confidence as the 10th generation. Correspondingly, the vibration filtering is better, giving a more premium feel. The exterior is a matter of personal preference; it's not as domineering as the previous generation, more understated, less "ghost fire" style, and more elegant. The interior materials have visibly improved, with less plastic feel and more soft leather wrapping. Storage space has decreased, not only the trunk space is compromised, but also the front storage compartments are reduced. The infotainment system is significantly better than the previous generation; the HUD is very clear, and the map can be projected onto the instrument cluster. However, the built-in Baidu Map is not as user-friendly as Gaode Map. The regenerative braking paddles are better than the previous generation, with stronger regenerative force, and pressing the accelerator can cancel it, so they can replace the brake pedal in many cases. The pure electric range is "reverse falsely marked"; I commute 93km round trip every day, half on the highway, and still have 15% battery left when I get home at night. But the last 5% should be unavailable, reserved for hybrid mode. The fuel consumption with low battery is similar to the previous generation; with half highway driving at 120km/h cruising, it's around 5L/100km.
--Regarding slow charging
I don't really care. I don't charge it outside; it's not an electric car after all, and with 5L fuel consumption, I can't afford not to refuel.
--Regarding the trunk hump
I also don't care much. For a commuter car, the trunk only holds a car wash mop. People with urgent trunk space needs shouldn't look at this car; they should check out SUVs. Demanding trunk space from a sedan is really a bit...
Conclusion: It's still a good commuter car, and home charging with a fixed parking space is fine. But it's not a "hexagon warrior"; expecting this car to meet all needs is very unrealistic.
Review B
【Driving Experience】
It's excellent, no complaints. Honda has always been about "buying the engine and getting the car for free," and the driving experience is great. The steering is responsive, power is instantly available when you press the accelerator, there's no jolt when the engine kicks in, and this generation has improved the cabin sound insulation. The drawbacks are that the steering wheel is heavier than the smaller cars I've driven before, which takes some getting used to. Also, the 5-meter length makes parking a bit tricky.
【Space】
The passenger and driver space is quite good. Thanks to the seats being adjustable to a low position, a 1.9-meter tall person still has a fist of headroom in the driver's seat. The rear seat space is also decent. Storage space is unremarkable; the armrest box and front passenger glove box are both relatively shallow, and there's a large fuel tank taking up space in the trunk.
【Fuel Consumption】
I'm a new driver with poor driving habits. When I first picked up the car, the fuel consumption when the battery was low was around 5.7. It should be possible to get it below 5.0 with a "gentle right foot." In pure electric mode, the full charge range is about 80 kilometers, and it decreases a bit when the air conditioning is on full blast.
*After getting familiar with the car and road conditions for a few days, with mainly expressway driving for solo commuting, the fuel consumption when the battery is low has dropped to approximately 4.5.
Review C
Accord launch event on May 20th.
The 4S store only has fuel-powered display cars and test-drive vehicles.
First test drive of the fuel-powered car on May 21st; it felt not much different from the 10.5th generation, with slightly better sound insulation.
Then came the long wait for the plug-in hybrid test-drive vehicle.
In early July, the 4S store notified that the plug-in hybrid test-drive car had arrived but hadn't been issued a temporary license plate yet, so another day of waiting was needed before the test drive.
Made an appointment for a test drive early the next morning; the test-drive car had only been driven 30 kilometers, and I was told I was the second person to test-drive the plug-in hybrid model.
The feeling is that compared to the 10.5th generation, it is more inclined towards pure electric driving. With the improved quietness, my evaluation is that this is the "Accord" that least resembles a Honda.
The body size has increased to 4980mm compared to the previous generation, with the wheelbase remaining unchanged. No comment on the exterior as everyone has different aesthetics; personally, I can accept it. The interior is more refined. The Accord is the first model to be equipped with Honda CONNECT 4.0, and the infotainment system is praised for its relatively fast response speed and wireless support.
