Review A
Most dissatisfied points: It's the car infotainment system and the radar. The car infotainment system has decent fluency, but the content is really bad. After all, it's from a traditional automaker, and it's a system shared by fuel - powered cars and electric cars. Anyway, it's extremely difficult to use, and the content display is unclear. This is probably the drawback of converting a fuel - powered car to an electric one. Now let's talk about the radar. It's even more of a rip - off. Sometimes it beeps for no reason, suddenly scaring you. You'd think you're about to hit something, but in fact, there's still a one - meter distance! Apart from these two points, I'm satisfied with everything else.
Car - buying experience: It's not easy to buy a car. I've visited all the surrounding cities. I've compared prices and negotiated from store to store. There's no other way; the local discounts are too small. I originally planned to buy an EQC400, but I saw on the forum that there's a 50% chance of having to replace the motor. Since I'm buying the car from another place, I'm worried about the inconvenience of maintenance if it breaks down. So, I thought it over and decided to buy an EQB for peace of mind.
Interior: There's no need to say much about Mercedes - Benz's interior. Even men can't resist it. When my wife saw it, she immediately said to buy this one. Especially when you turn on the ambient lights at night, it's just amazing. After seeing the Mercedes - Benz interior, I can't even look at Audi or BMW. Women, after all, love good - looking things.
Driving experience: The chassis has a high - end feel in filtering vibrations. It's comfortable and quiet, and the power is okay too. However, since it's a single - motor vehicle, it can't be compared with the 350 with dual - motors. The steering feel is also good. Despite the large body, it turns as easily as a small car and is very easy to turn around in the city. I have to give a thumbs - up for this.
Range: Range is also the most concerning issue for car owners. The reason I've delayed the vehicle certification until now is to test the daily range. I have an EQB260. The official range is 600 kilometers. In the city, it can reach 600 - 650 kilometers (the highest record is 650, and I have pictures to prove it). On the highway with the air - conditioner on, it's about 500 kilometers. I have a gentle driving style. For those who like aggressive driving, you can just take 90% of my range. As for those who claim on the forum that they can only drive 300 kilometers, if you click on their avatars and enter their profiles, you'll find that either they're keyboard warriors who haven't bought the car or they own the first - edition 350. After all, dual - motor vehicles consume more power, and this is a normal phenomenon.
Review B
¡¾Car Purchase Experience¡¿As our baby grew up, the space in my wife's A3 was no longer sufficient for daily use. Coupled with the general trend, the goal for this car replacement was clear: a luxury brand with a green license plate. I personally favored the Q4 e-tron, but my wife didn't like it, so it was a no-go. She thought the ix3 was good, but she disliked the "pig nose" grille, so that was also rejected. I had been following the EQB since its launch, but unfortunately, the price was too high and it never dropped to my expected level. Then the Shanghai lockdown due to the pandemic put the plan on hold. After the lockdown was lifted, I almost bought a Range Rover Evoque plug-in hybrid. The day before making the decision, I asked my previous salesperson out of curiosity, and he said there was a 2021 October-produced First Edition model with an optional head-up display. I gave my budget price, and the other side agreed. That's how I finally made the decision. Why did I choose this car? Due to my wife's work situation, we couldn't buy a Tesla, and I wasn't interested in the new car - making startups. Regarding the much - talked - about issue of converting a gasoline car to an electric one, there's no room for doubt or argument. You can tell from Mercedes' promotional materials for the EQB that there's not a single word about the chassis structure. So, why still choose a car converted from a gasoline model? Building a car isn't just about putting a few sofas on four wheels; heritage matters. Even if I didn't choose the EQB, I'd only go for products from traditional established automakers - they have standards and heritage. Everyone has different opinions and choices, and it's about spending money to make yourself happy.
¡¾Range¡¿The EQB is my first all - electric car. I only use it for urban commuting and short - distance self - driving trips within 100 kilometers one - way. The official range is 512 kilometers. I haven't calculated it precisely. Currently, on the highway, the range is over 350 kilometers, and for city driving, it's over 400 kilometers (with the air - conditioner on in midsummer). The figures might not be very accurate as I haven't measured them specifically, but it's around this level. After checking that the battery pack data is normal, I believe that different driving styles can lead to different range levels.
¡¾Driving Experience¡¿The EQB 350 has electric four - wheel drive with 292 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 - 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. In daily driving, it more than meets the requirements, and the power is almost always enough. Although it's an SUV, its curb weight is 2.2 tons, and it drives quite stably. The rest gives a strong sense of German engineering and the unique Mercedes - Benz flavor.
¡¾Riding Experience¡¿The 7 - seat configuration is better than I expected. It's more than enough for emergency use. The tough exterior design provides good headroom, and the space is even larger than that of my Discovery Sport. However, the seats in the First Edition are a bit hard. Later, the seats in the 260 and 350 models are the same as those in the GLB, which has improved the comfort level.
¡¾Most Satisfied¡¿The appearance, configuration, and power of the 350 First Edition are almost top - notch. It has everything: ACC, hands - free trunk opening, keyless entry for all four doors, head - up display, and Burmester sound system. The ACC is also an upgraded version compared to another V - class car in my family and comes with active lane - keeping. As a compact SUV from a first - tier traditional automaker, you can't expect too much extra from it. As for Mercedes' interior, it still has a sense of luxury. But I think people should understand that first - tier automakers have strict vehicle positioning systems. As a compact EQB model, this sense of luxury can only be appreciated from afar, not up close. For example, the upper part of the center console and door panels are soft - wrapped, while the lower part is made of hard plastic. This isn't a problem specific to the EQB; it's the same for other first - tier automakers like BBA.
Review C
First of all, I can only say that the first impression the EQB350 gives me so far is that I made the right choice of car. It feels more comfortable than the test - driven BMW iX3. Previously, I was torn between the NIO ES6, Model Y, Cadillac Lyriq, etc. I paid a deposit for the Cadillac, but it was delayed for too long, so I was so angry that I refunded it. Then I saw many people criticizing Mercedes - Benz on Dongchedi. I was once torn about whether to pay this so - called "IQ tax". Based on the experience of our family's GLC260, I thought it didn't matter to pay this tax. Anyway, I bought it for fun. I can afford this tax and am willing to pay it.
I picked up the car on the 29th. It's a gift for my wife on June 1st ????. I added a 9,000 - yuan HUD head - up display system. The bare - car price was 375,800 yuan after all the formalities. The premium package said it would come with a dash cam, but the launch version already had one by default. So I asked them to replace the ordinary film with Quantum film, added an aluminum chassis guard, and they also gave me a Panasonic shaver set and some other miscellaneous things. Since it involved a friend, I felt embarrassed to buy the insurance on my own, so I bought it at the dealership, which cost nearly 12,000 yuan. Overall, I'm quite satisfied. The only thing that bothers me is that Ping An Insurance Company leaked my personal information right after issuing the policy.
The car drives great. It's more comfortable than my GLC260. Although the EQB takes a little over 6 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, it's more than enough for city driving. The 7 - seat version is mainly to ensure that all three of my kids have seats. When carrying kids, I'm definitely not going to pursue extreme speed like when I was a teenager. I think 6 seconds is quite sufficient. The start is powerful enough, and when I'm driving alone and step on the accelerator to the floor, I can still feel the push - back sensation. The human - vehicle interaction system is also good. When driving at a relatively high speed with a car in front, the regenerative braking can be clearly felt, which is a plus. As for the D+ power mode, I haven't tried it yet.
It's a pity that since it's a conversion from a gasoline - powered car to an electric one, the storage space in the front compartment is gone. Also, the seats don't have the electric headrest function, which makes it a bit uncomfortable. Personally, I think I may need to add a latex headrest and a lumbar support. It might be more comfortable to drive then. I'm looking forward to trying it. The range is okay. So far, I've driven exactly 100 kilometers. I drove at 70 km/h on the elevated road and the average speed on other sections was 35 km/h. The air - conditioner was set at 20 degrees, the air purification system was fully on, the ambient lights were at the brightest mode, and I turned on the air - conditioner to cool the car for 10 minutes three times before remotely picking up the car. After driving these 100 kilometers, it consumed 17.6 kW¡¤h. I feel that if the air - conditioner isn't used so intensively, it should save more electricity. I haven't experienced other details yet and will supplement later.
