The electric power makes the car drive quieter and provides a faster acceleration experience. I am a doctor, and my daily commute is less than ten kilometers, so a plug-in hybrid model is quite economical. I have driven more than 500 kilometers so far. Except for the hardware problem with the vehicle's Bluetooth key at the factory, which has been completely solved through communication, there have been no obvious abnormalities in the vehicle through recent driving experience. After all, it is a new car, and I will update the driving experience every six months in the future. I have always had a strong interest in cars, so I will consider comprehensively when choosing a vehicle. This is my second car; the previous one was a sedan, so this time I chose an SUV. At the same time, to adapt to the development of the times and avoid my range anxiety, I chose a plug-in hybrid model, which can be regarded as a transitional product in the changing times. As for why I chose the Honda CR-V this time, the 2023 model's appearance and the stability of the brand's 2.0 naturally aspirated engine made me give up turbocharged cars that require higher fuel quality and have more unstable factors in comparison.
The picture below is a size comparison with my relative's Mercedes-Benz GLS 450. To be honest, I originally just parked them together as a joke. After all, both are black cars and look very coordinated. But the body size of the 2023 Honda really surprised me; it was really unexpected.

【Space Performance】
The space is large, especially the rear seat space. The seats can recline, and there is ample legroom. The trunk is also sufficient for a family's use.

【Fuel Consumption】
About 5.5L per 100km when the battery is low. Currently, after charging several times, the pure electric range shows 73-86km, which is related to the temperature. I heard it can reach over 90km.
With a full tank of fuel and a full charge, it can run about 916km.

【Intelligence】
The vehicle's intelligent system is not as good as domestic brands. Voice recognition sometimes triggers by mistake. The system does not support installing third-party software; only the built-in QQ Music is available. The built-in navigation is not easy to use.

【Most Dissatisfactory】
There is no CarPlay. This can be solved by buying an adapter, but it is definitely not as easy to use as the built-in one.

【Driving Experience】
The noise on the highway is relatively loud, but it is acceptable.
The passability is good, and it is easy to handle. The power is sufficient, and overtaking on the highway is smooth. The chassis tuning is comfortable in my opinion.
In ECO mode, when the battery is sufficient, the engine will not start occasionally unless rapid acceleration is needed, and there is no jerk when the engine intervenes.
The sound system is average. Only the top configuration has Bose. I thought the mid-range configuration also had it when I bought it, and was misled by the salesperson.

【Comfort】
The mid-range configuration does not have seat ventilation, but has seat heating.
The front seats have electric adjustment, and there is an electric tailgate with leg感应.
It is equipped with an air purification device, which is good. It supports remote air conditioning activation via a mobile phone in advance.

Honda probably didn't expect that, as the originator of the series-parallel hybrid mode, it is now far behind in the domestic plug-in hybrid camp. However, judging from this all-new CR-V e:PHEV (referred to as CR-V plug-in hybrid), it is actively integrating into China's local supply chain. Not only has the price been reduced, but while reducing costs, it also strives to basically solve the inherent drawbacks.

For example, the battery has been replaced from Honda's own lithium battery to CATL's ternary lithium battery, which reduces costs and increases energy density. The battery capacity has been increased to 17.7 kWh, with a WLTC pure electric range of 73 kilometers. Compared with the Song PLUS DMi, which uses an 18.3 kWh battery to achieve 85 kilometers, the level is quite similar. It has already caught up with the first-line level of domestic plug-in hybrid models.

What also comes with this is that the new battery and electronic control system have improved the body structure. The fuel tank capacity has been increased to 46.5 liters, with a full fuel and full electricity range of 916 kilometers. Although compared with domestic brands that often exceed 1200 kilometers, there still seems to be a gap. But you have to believe that joint venture brands have always been relatively conservative in key data, with less water content.

In addition, under the fourth-generation iMMD system, the 2.0L Atkinson cycle engine has been changed from multi-point EFI to direct fuel injection, the compression ratio has been increased from 13.5 to 13.9, the power has been increased from 146 horsepower to 150 horsepower, and the fuel consumption in feed mode has been reduced from 6L to 5.5L.

From the actual driving experience, there is not much difference from the old model. At medium and low speeds, it is mainly driven by electricity in most cases. When the engine intervenes at high speeds, obvious noise and vibration can still be felt. However, since its engine direct drive has two gears: high speed and low speed, the NVH performance has been improved compared with the old model. The overall power performance and energy consumption are in line with expectations. In horizontal comparison, the 150-horsepower engine + 184-horsepower motor plus two-speed direct drive, the comprehensive capability of this powertrain is also very competitive compared with domestic plug-in hybrids.
