Review A

I am from Shandong. On March 19th, I went to a 4S store in Tianjin with my classmate to pick up the car. The gifts were nothing more than the original 3M film, a recorder, foot mats, a portable charging gun, and a full tank of fuel and electricity. Then we started the approximately 400-kilometer highway journey back to Shandong from Tianjin.

[Driving Experience]
I turned on L2 intelligent driving on the highway. The lane keeping function gave a feeling of grabbing the steering wheel, which I was not used to, so I turned it off. The power performance on the highway is excellent, which is one of the reasons I chose the L7. The wind noise control is acceptable. After all, for cars at this price, the auditory difference between single-layer glass and double-layer glass is similar when the speed is above 120 km/h. The tire noise is quite obvious on rough roads, but better on better roads. The journey was long, over 400 kilometers, so my brother and I took turns driving back. He said the power of this car is stronger than my sister-in-law's BMW X3.

[Fuel Consumption]
After returning home, I basically drive in pure electric mode. Since I drive a lot every day, the pure electric range of 80-90 kilometers may not be enough, so I need to charge it once a day. Driving in pure electric mode is indeed quiet, and the power is sufficient for urban commuting. I just applied for a charging pile, which will be installed in a few days.
Except for pure electric mode, the smart mode is used the most. After picking up the car, there were many highway sections on the return trip. A full tank of fuel filled in Tianjin plus 4 charges during the trip home allowed me to drive about 970 kilometers (with a remaining pure fuel range of over 170 kilometers and 40 kilometers of electricity left). This fuel consumption makes me confused. I don't know how the manufacturer calculates the advertised 1300+ kilometers with a full tank of fuel and full electricity. The difference is quite large, which may be due to mainly driving on highways.

[Riding Experience]
Sitting three adults in the back row is not crowded, which is sufficient for family use.

[Space Performance]
The trunk is average among its peers. The glove box and the area under the center console are not hollowed out. Other storage spaces are barely够用, not abundant.

[Most Dissatisfied]
There are no physical buttons, none at all!

[Most Satisfied]
Appearance, power and configuration.

【Exterior and Interior】
When it comes to exterior and interior, everyone has different aesthetics; as long as you think it looks good, that's enough.
I chose the Starry Silver exterior with a black roof featuring the sports package, which is both elegant and dirt-resistant. The L7 has a sporty and stylish exterior with high recognition; to be honest, I think the E8's front face looks better.
I prefer a clean interior, so I opted for white, paired with blue ambient lighting, giving it a very premium feel. The seats are very comfortable, and the HUD, full LCD instrument panel, large central control screen, passenger screen, and "hidden" door handles inside all enhance the technological sense of the cabin.

【Energy Consumption Performance】
I picked up the car and completed the registration on April 30th. Just in time for the May Day holiday, I went on a trip to experience the L7. When I set off on May Day, the battery was 80% remaining. Most charging stations required queuing, so I drove 500 kilometers without charging, 400 of which were on the highway. During the May Day holiday, I basically drove with a low battery, and the average fuel consumption was 5.8L when the battery was low, which might be related to traffic jams and air conditioning use during the holiday. For a 1.9-ton car, the L7's energy consumption performance is overall very good. In 20 days since picking up the car, I've driven 1,286 kilometers, consuming a total of 104 kWh of electricity and 50 liters of fuel, costing approximately 0.36 yuan per kilometer. The WLTC-rated pure electric range of 90 kilometers is closer to the actual range. When I first picked up the car, I used a lot of electricity researching the infotainment system and various functions, so I didn't accurately calculate the pure electric range, but it's about 70+ kilometers (with air conditioning, seat ventilation, music, movies, lights, and driver assistance features on). I'm very satisfied with this energy consumption.

【Driving Experience】
The Galaxy L7 is equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged engine. Although the car weighs 1.9 tons, the power is still strong, even in pure fuel mode. In smart mode, when the speed is around 70 km/h, which is just in the shifting range, the engine noise is a bit louder, but not as noisy as traditional fuel vehicles. What I find most enjoyable about driving the L7 is on the highway: set the navigation, turn on the music, activate seat massage and ventilation, and enable intelligent driving mode—it's simply a pleasure to drive! The L7's chassis is really well-tuned; it remains stable even above 120 km/h on the highway. The HUD is very practical, displaying speed, navigation, speed limits, etc. The 360-degree panoramic view when reversing provides a great sense of security. The most praiseworthy feature is the intelligent driving! You can basically enable the navigation-assisted driving mode on the highway by pressing the button at the top left of the steering wheel. After setting the maximum speed with the left roller, the L7 can automatically accelerate, decelerate, turn on the turn signal, and change lanes to overtake. You just need to hold the steering wheel with one hand and pay attention to the road conditions, making highway driving much easier and significantly reducing driver fatigue. The camera in front of the steering wheel monitors the driver's status: if you don't look ahead for a long time, there will be sound and dashboard text reminders; if you yawn or show signs of drowsiness, the L7 will automatically turn on strong air conditioning and activate seat massage to help you stay awake, which is very user-friendly. The door handle design inside the L7 is quite interesting, being "hidden". People getting in for the first time often don't know how to close the door; some even study it for a while and ask me, "Is your car so advanced that I can't even close the door?" Haha. This position can also hold a mobile phone, which is quite practical. The infotainment system experience is okay; it can't be said to be particularly responsive, but it doesn't affect daily use, and most people don't operate the car's infotainment system as frequently as they do their phones. Two weeks after picking up the car, I encountered a situation where the 360-degree camera wouldn't turn on when reversing. Manually turning it on, locking and re-entering the car, and restarting the infotainment system didn't solve the problem, but it recovered on its own at night, and I'm not sure why. No other issues have been encountered so far.

Overall, the L7 is a fully-featured and cost-effective SUV that attracts a lot of attention wherever it goes. I'm very satisfied!

【Shortcomings】
First, there are too few physical buttons. Although most functions can be controlled by voice, it doesn't feel as direct as physical buttons. Touch screen control requires multiple swipes, which is a bit troublesome. Second, the complimentary dedicated dash cam cannot be controlled via voice for emergency photo or video capture; it can only be operated manually by connecting to the dash cam through the mobile App or in-car App, making it impossible to operate in emergency situations. Third, the exterior door handles are not hidden, which feels less premium. Fourth, keyless entry only supports the driver's seat, which is somewhat inconvenient.

【Car Purchase Experience】
I originally planned to choose between the L6 and the Destroyer 05. BYD is still far behind the old L6 in terms of workmanship, materials, and chassis tuning, and its safety also leans more towards Galaxy. When test-driving the old L6, I happened to open the trunk of the L7 in the showroom and thought it was perfect for taking my dog out to play, so that dog hair wouldn't stick everywhere on the seats. It took half a month from looking at the car to placing the order, and another half a month to pick up the car, with all kinds of waiting. I also knew that Galaxy would have disappointing aspects, but there was no way; I couldn't wait to change cars. I was aware of its shortcomings—maybe because I used to drive a BenBen, which had almost no driving experience and was simply a chore to drive—driving this car, I feel I can accept those shortcomings.
The sound insulation is much better than the BenBen, and there's also some顿挫. I've driven a manual transmission gasoline car for tens of thousands of kilometers, and driving this one feels okay, not as exaggerated as they say. Many car owners say the infotainment system is laggy, but I haven't felt it; it's completely够用. I only use it for music and navigation and don't find it laggy. Maybe I haven't driven luxury cars, so I don't dare to play with it like a phone.

【Driving Experience】
The power is abundant. I didn't dare to experience the top speed of 243, but when I was driving back after picking up the car, at speeds above 160 on the highway, stepping on the accelerator deeply still gave a strong pushing-back feeling. Finally, I can get on the fast lane. I used to be afraid to take the fast lane when driving the BenBen on the highway, as its top speed was only 105.

【Range】
It's okay. I don't have a "golden right foot". When driving the BenBen, the actual range for 300 kilometers claimed in the city was only about 200. This model claims 90 and can run between 80 and 85. Currently, I think it's not falsely advertised, but it's a bit short.

【Fuel Consumption】
After filling up the tank when I picked up the car, it still shows a remaining range of 999 kilometers, and I haven't used much fuel yet.
