Review A
When it comes to technical backing, Avatr should be the strongest among all new car-making forces currently. This new brand, jointly created by Changan, Huawei, and CATL, brings together traditional automakers, high-tech internet companies, and the core battery suppliers for electric vehicles.
Before this car made its debut at the Chongqing Auto Show, we got a chance to experience it in advance. Since the manufacturer stated that the version we were testing was still a prototype, the assembly¹¤ÒÕ and some functions might differ from the mass-produced version, so the evaluation here is only for this prototype.
First, the exterior. Looking at the Avatr 11's appearance in pictures might make you think it's a bit odd, but the real car looks stunning. The front face is very futuristic, the side profile has a typical coupe SUV style, and the rear end design is also quite distinctive. Overall, the exterior has very high recognition.
The interior is similarly impressive. Although there are also three screens, the designers have added some creativity. The small screens on both sides are embedded and clearly divided from the steering wheel and the central control large screen.
The space performance is at the mainstream level for this class. The rear row of this 5-seat version doesn't feel cramped when fully loaded with 3 people. The overall space performance is quite good, especially considering its very unique exterior design.
The power is quite eye-catching. It uses high-power dual motors provided by Huawei. During our test drive, we felt that its power output is on par with Tesla's high-performance version. The overall power response is extremely fast; the amount you step on the accelerator directly translates into a pushing-back feeling.
The overall handling is also commendable. It uses a special steering wheel. Due to the small number of steering wheel turns and the positive response of the front end to steering, the Avatr 11 drives very flexibly. The chassis performance is equally surprising. The front double wishbone and rear multi-link structure is inherently sporty, and with the high overall tuning level, driving it actually brings a hint of pleasure.
Of course, what really sets the Avatr 11 apart from other cars is its intelligent driving assistance system. It has 1 lidar each on the front of the car and on both sides of the front fenders, plus a very high computing power intelligent driving chip, allowing it to independently complete most driving tasks.
Review B
The gray interior I chose is quite stylish. Avatr really didn't skimp on materials for the interior, especially the seats¡ªthey're wide, thick, and have great resilience, with not much of a smell. I feel the Avatr 11 has the most comfortable seats in the entire brand; the other models don't compare. The front seats have a wide range of adjustments and are dual zero-gravity seats. All four seats (front and rear) come with ventilation, heating, and massage functions¡ªpretty much top-of-the-line (though the rear seats don't have adjustment controls). I've had the car for a month now, driven over 2,000 kilometers, with 1,000 of those using smart driving. The pros and cons are pretty clear from my experience. The chassis tuning leans toward family comfort, with soft suspension¡ªprobably catering to most people's usage scenarios. Going over bigger potholes makes the whole car»ζ¯ like a boat, but it's quite comfortable on regular roads. Still, with those 21-inch wheels, I basically don't dare drive fast over potholes. Then there's the sunroof, which is really sunny when using the car in Guangzhou. I don't get why new energy vehicles these days don't add a sunshade. Even after putting a heat-resistant film on the sunroof, it's still a bit hot. Adding extra money for¸ôÈÈÁúĤ on the windows helped, but the windshield still gets really hot. After a month, I feel like my hands have gotten tanner, so now I always keep a sun protection sleeve in the car. Lastly, the infotainment system hasn't integrated a large AI model yet. It can handle basic functions fine, but it can't do conversations or searches right now. I heard the manufacturer will tender for a large model partner in September¡ªwe'll see how that goes later. The space is enough for me, probably because I don't have kids yet, haha. For smart driving, I paid an extra 10,000 yuan for the advanced smart driving package after picking up the car. It's really made highway long drives much easier, and it can basically handle city driving on its own. The parking function is especially great¡ªI've let it park itself every time since I got the car, and it's been 100% successful, not a single failure. Gotta give Huawei props for that. But you still need to stay alert in complex smart driving situations; I've been startled a few times. There are just way too many electric scooters in Guangzhou!!! For now, treating it as an advanced driver-assistance system is sufficient. If you're not an audiophile with super high demands, the 25-speaker Meridian sound system has pretty good sound quality in my opinion. The app has quite a few features too. I'll come back to share more when I have time. That's my one-month experience!
Review C
I drove my new car to Mount Emei and want to share my feelings (actually, I posted about it a few days ago, but I'm reposting it to get more clicks??).
1. I've always liked the 1.11, but I didn't buy it because there was no range extender. I kept watching and waiting, so I picked up the car as soon as the range extender version was launched. In fact, I've been observing for a long time, including the necessity of urban autonomous driving, whether purchasing urban autonomous driving at one's own expense will decrease in price, or whether it will be given as a gift during inventory clearance. Summarizing all the current business practices, they won't offend the first batch of owners too much, and the various benefits for the first batch of owners are also the most favorable. Since I've made a decision, I can buy it early.
2. I'm very satisfied with the styling and appearance. I picked up the car directly from the store, and it's fully equipped, with zero-gravity seats, Meridian sound system, and front and rear seats equipped with ventilation, massage and heating functions. The most surprising thing was experiencing the electric doors for the first time. The store sales introduced that the car can drive itself to the garage gate, automatically open the door, then after I get off and go home, the car will automatically return to the parking space. The sense of ceremony is indeed full. But it seems that it hasn't been fully implemented yet, or I don't know how to operate it. I'll try it slowly.
