Review A
My previous car was a Japanese car (yes, it's the so - called "highway lightning"). Those who know about its power, sound insulation, and interior design understand, so I won't go into details. Since this is an upgrade in my car purchase, I decided to buy a car that excels in these three aspects. Due to certain reasons (refer to a certain Yue model in December), I didn't consider small - scale manufacturers. I've looked at the i5, M7, L9, and EQE. I really like the interior and riding comfort of the M7 and L9, but their styling seems too conservative to me. I'm relatively young, so I don't quite fancy it. And as for the driving experience, well, it's just comfortable to sit in? The i5 was my third choice. However, in comparison, the single - motor, 35 Premium model actually requires an additional option for the head - up display! The official cruising range is only a little over five hundred kilometers (the 40L version wasn't available when I bought the car), and surprisingly, the sound insulation is just average. I couldn't get the price down to 35 no matter how hard I tried. Finally, I went to a Mercedes - Benz 4S store and chose the EQE SUV. I've already driven it for over three thousand kilometers, and here's my experience: Regarding intelligent driving and the smart cockpit, if Huawei's technology is like an 18 - year - old adult, this car's is currently like a 10 - year - old. In simple terms, it can only execute relatively single commands, such as "Close the driver's window", "Open the sunroof", "Set the air - conditioner to XX degrees", "Play XX song", "Navigate to XXX", and it can only handle one command at a time. The intelligent driving system won't automatically change lanes according to the situation of the vehicle in front; you need to turn on the turn signal yourself for the car to change lanes (I heard that it will soon be available for an online upgrade to L2++, looking forward to it). I won't elaborate on the interior; it's visibly luxurious. As for the power and driving experience, I can only say it's very Mercedes - Benz. Once you drive it, you'll know how comfortable it is. The comfort mode of this car is completely different from my previous "highway lightning". When switched to the sport mode, it can overtake on the highway with a single foot on the accelerator, giving a strong sense of pushback! It has a dual - motor four - wheel drive with an off - road mode, suitable for both mountainous areas and highways. I dare say that the suspension and chassis tuning of this car belongs to the top - tier among non - air - suspension vehicles.
Review B
Exterior: The appearance is one of those types that looks unappealing at first glance but gradually grows on you after driving it for a while. Of course, having gotten used to the traditional appearance of fuel - powered cars like the GLC and GLE, the EQE SUV may seem a bit bulky and squat.
Interior: I chose the white interior with brown accents. I couldn't wait for the yacht - blue interior and just went ahead and bought it. Overall, it maintains Mercedes - Benz's consistent standard, being grand and simple, but it's a hassle to clean later on.
Space: The internal space is not as large as expected compared to its exterior dimensions. This is probably due to the battery layout design. However, it's still sufficient. The rear seats are not as bad as described in various reviews. Maybe I personally prefer to sit upright.
Driver assistance: The L2 - level driver assistance is sufficient for ordinary users. It's easy to set the following speed and following distance. Since I don't often drive long - distance, I personally prefer driving by myself. I have to say that Mercedes - Benz's column - mounted gear selector design is very classic. You don't need to change your posture to operate it; you can do everything with the steering wheel, which is very convenient and safe. The reversing camera and HUD also meet the current standard. I need to praise the HUD design. It shows all the necessary data while driving and doesn't have any flashy features. The HUDs of domestic new - energy vehicle startups have more functions. They seem fun at first, but after driving for a long time, I personally feel that too many features may cause distraction and pose a danger.
Range: It's above average. Since I just got the car in winter, I can't write about the vehicle's power consumption in spring and autumn yet. Currently, in winter, it can travel at least 450 kilometers on a full charge, which may be related to the mild winter in Beijing this year.
Power and tuning: Thanks to the dual - motor all - wheel drive, in short - distance driving (except for long - distance trips), it can basically outperform its fuel - powered counterparts in the same class. For non - racing drivers, a 0 - 100km/h acceleration time of 5 seconds is sufficient. The chassis tuning and handling maintain Mercedes - Benz's consistent standard. When switching from a fuel - powered car to this electric vehicle, the driving feel of the pedals is almost the same. The brakes feel a bit soft, perhaps to provide a better experience for passengers and reduce jerks.
The only drawback I've noticed so far is that the voice recognition rate of Mercedes - Benz's customized Gaode navigation is extremely poor. Although I speak Beijing dialect, which is quite close to standard Mandarin, the recognition rate is surprisingly low. This may be related to the big - data template of imported cars. Restricted by the big - data template, it's much worse than that of domestic new - energy vehicle startups. Domestic startups can handle not only Mandarin but also local dialects accurately.
Conclusion: Generally speaking, after the price of Mercedes - Benz's EQE electric vehicle series has been pressured by new - energy vehicle startups, it is definitely a mid - sized luxury car that lives up to its price and is a conscientious product. While maintaining Mercedes - Benz's consistent standard, compared with the 2022 and 2023 models, directly equipping the base model with dual - motor all - wheel drive indeed brings more driving pleasure to the driver. As an individual user, the driving safety, handling comfort, and chassis tuning of the car are the main factors to consider. I'm very satisfied with the EQE SUV in these aspects. As for the optional Burmester sound system, as a music enthusiast with Dynaudio Contour series speakers at home, or perhaps because I haven't found the best audio sources, I didn't find it that amazing.
Review C
¡¾Space performance¡¿
The rear space is smaller than that of the E300 and similar to that of the GLE and GLC.
¡¾Endurance and energy consumption¡¿
It can travel 450 km on the highway and 550 km in the urban area.
¡¾Assisted driving¡¿
It's very useful. The luxury version mainly has L2. Drive in Dauto mode in the urban area and use the assisted driving mode directly on the highway. After driving for more than a month and covering 8000 km, it failed to recognize the vehicle in front only once in the urban area.
¡¾Charging time¡¿
It can charge from 10% to 80% very quickly. It's recommended to set the upper limit to 90% to protect the battery.
¡¾Interior¡¿
Top-notch! The interior of Mercedes-Benz is really beautiful, especially the ambient lights.
¡¾Exterior¡¿
I like this style. Well, different people have different tastes.
¡¾Most dissatisfied¡¿
None.
