Review A
【Driving Experience】It adopts the all-new McLaren architecture and is powered by a V6 twin-turbocharged engine, plus a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a pair of electric motors and a battery, so the electric motors alone can deliver 95 horsepower. Additionally, the two turbochargers of the V6 engine are actually placed at the 120-degree angle of the V6, and you can see a separate heat dissipation outlet designed at the rear of the car for this purpose, which is very interesting and has a peculiar visual effect. With the electric motors and plug-in system combined, the car can achieve an output of 680 horsepower, still a very ferocious model. In fact, when starting the car, it runs on pure electric power in Comfort mode and switches to the internal combustion engine hybrid mode when accelerating. I think its power delivery curve is more biased towards traditional internal combustion engines, with the electric motors mainly assisting the overall power output. Moreover, after the engine speed exceeds 6000 rpm, there will be a small climax of power surge, which I think is a very good experience. The higher the engine speed, the more exciting the car feels. If I had to describe the feeling of this power curve, I would say the electric motors quietly assist in the rpm climb from behind, and the power burst comes particularly猛烈, which is what driving a real supercar is all about. The car's suspension system also has its highlights: the front suspension is a double-wishbone setup, and the rear suspension is a multi-link structure, but the upper half of the suspension adopts a double-wishbone design. The rear of the car is very stable, and the overall integrity of the car is very strong when making continuous lane changes.
Review B
Some people say, who would buy a hybrid supercar? Are you looking down on LaFerrari, P1, or Artura?
Dynamics:
It's not that hybrids aren't tempting; you just haven't driven a McLaren!
0-100km/h acceleration in 3 seconds, 0-200km/h in 8.3 seconds. Simply talking about acceleration figures and horsepower is meaningless. If you've driven a Ferrari 296GTB, you'll find that the McLaren Artura feels faster! Why? Although the Ferrari 296GTB has more horsepower, McLaren's traditional characteristic is being lightweight, so the power-to-weight ratio is roughly similar. The new 8DCT gearbox shifts down sharply. The only downside is the V6 engine, which doesn't have as much "keyboard appeal," but fortunately, the exhaust note is still高亢 and can still provide plenty of sensory stimulation. If the chassis is set to TRACK or SPORT mode, it's indeed very stiff and bumpy, but when adjusted to COMFORT mode, you can clearly feel the suspension changes, and the road feel becomes softer. After a full day of driving, my waist wasn't tired at all, making it perfectly fine for daily use.
Interior:
The overall atmosphere inside is very sporty, with large areas wrapped in Alcantara material. The central control screen is tilted towards the driver, not very large, like an enlarged iWatch. The infotainment system supports CarPlay, but in 2023, it still uses a wired connection. The steering wheel feels excellent, with small indentations at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions that fit perfectly. The seats have good ergonomics and strong support, but the standard bucket seats have non-adjustable backrest angles. It's worth mentioning that the seating position isn't particularly low, so getting in and out isn't too strenuous.
Exterior:
The best-looking form is with both doors open; you can tell it's a McLaren at a glance. But when quietly parked, it's a bit too低调, especially the rear end, which doesn't look张扬 enough. The headlights aren't very recognizable when lit at night.
Summary:
What are McLaren's strengths? It's light, fast, and fun to drive! It feels right to drive, which is what a small sports car should be like. What are McLaren's weaknesses? People who buy supercars might not necessarily be pursuing this kind of fun!
Review C
The new era of supercars is going plug-in hybrid, and that's exactly what McLaren's ARTURA is about. This is a supercar with a very split personality; it can deliver both the gentleness of pure electric driving and the track-focused ferocity. With a pure electric range of around 30 kilometers, it allows you to return home quietly. The V6 3.0T hybrid powertrain delivers a combined maximum output of 680 horsepower and 720 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds, and it still feels very McLaren when tearing up the track. After an hour of track狂飙, you won't feel sore in the waist or legs. The comfort has been greatly improved compared to previous McLarens.
